Translation: someone spent eighteen months building something, a team believed in it, resources were committed, careers were shaped around it, and then someone above all of them decided it didn’t fit the deck for the board meeting.
A pivot in a startup is an adventure. A pivot in a corporation is a burial. The difference is who gets to call it what.
The work doesn’t disappear when you pivot. The people who did it do.
