Try this: write two obituaries for yourself.
The first one, write it the way your company would. Titles. Years of service. Revenue generated. “Played a key role in.” “Was instrumental in.” The institutional version of your life.
The second one, write it the way your family would. Who you loved. What you were called by the people who chose you. The Saturday morning thing. The lucky accident that started everything.
Now put them side by side.
The institutional obit mentions the company. The family obit doesn’t.
That tells you everything about which one mattered.
